Annual Chili Cook-off!

This is a “no holds barred,” cook-off welcomes all styles of chili. However, keep in mind that there will be no separate categories such as hot, mild or vegetarian. So, bring your “A” game!

The champ, Lady Celia Le Fleur is going for a 3rd non-consecutive win. The cook-off will be decided by a populace bean count vote. Ties being decided by Their Excellencies or Their Excellencies’ designated tie breaker.

There will be FABULOUS prizes for the top three winners with the #1 pick being crowned Flaming Gryphon’s Chili Champion.

Both full bowls (after judging ends) and judging samples will be available. There is no charge for chili but donations will be gratefully accepted by Havenholde.

Those who wish to participate should contact Lady Celia Le Fleur at ASAP so that we can get an idea of how much space we require on the table and how many crockpots need electricity.

All entrants are asked to provide an ingredients list with their entry for those with food allergies.

Bake Sale

The Valkyries will be having a bake sale at Twelfth Night. Bring donations of baked goods and come ready to buy delectable treats to help raise money for the food/drink for the fighters at Pennsic...for both heavy and rapier warriors!

Please contact HE Gwennan at to sign up or with any questions.

Baronial Gaming Championship

Unto the Populace of Flaming Gryphon, do I, Syr Magnus, send warm greetings!

As we take our ease near our hearths and spend time with friends and family and reflect upon the events of the year, I bid you all join me at Flaming Gryphon Twelfth Night in a tournament of games to determine who shall represent this Barony in the year to come.

Byzantine Chess, 9 Men’s Morris, and Alquerques will be the games played to find our new Champion.  Rule sets will be posted with this missive and I do hope to see many worthy gentles come forth to play.  (You even get to play games in the back of court!)  We will determine a tournament format on the day of the event and will depend on how many wish to compete.

I look forward to this day with enthusiastic anticipation and joy in my heart.

In Service,  Syr Magnus
