Baronial Artisan Competition:
It's time to help choose our next Baronial Artisan! The following are the guidelines for this year's competition:
*All gentles who consider themselves to be members of our Barony are invited to participate.
*You do not have to hold a SCA membership to participate.
*The competition requires at least a single Arts or Sciences piece or performance but you may display/perform as many items as you feel is appropriate to showcase your skill.
*The piece(s) should be accompanied by minimal documentation (i.e. what it is, when was it used, who used it, and what did they use it for, etc.) though additional documentation is encouraged.
*Set up should be completed by 12 noon. Their Excellencies would like each participant to present their Artisan Competition piece(s) to the populace in turn at the opening of the competition. Performance entries will be presented at this time.
*Entrants will be asked to introduce themselves to the Barony and provide a quick verbal description of their entry.
*Entries will be on display during the day from 1 to 4 pm. Entrants have the option to stay with their display during this time to answer any questions about their entry.
*Selection of the new Baronial Artisan will be a combination of silent ballot by the populace of the Barony and the consideration of the Baron and Baroness.
*The selected Baronial Artisan will be required to provide a goods or service to the Barony during their one year reign and will be expected to share their knowledge with others. The Artisan will be invited to stand with the Baron and Baroness in all Baronial courts
All those who wish to enter must provide their name (modern and SCA, including any correct titles), a means for them to be reached (email, phone, carrier pigeon, etc.), medium of their work, title of piece (if applicable), Chronological era/geographic location to Rebbah (Lady) Amari Qira bat Abraham no later than January 9, 2013.
A Youth Baronial Artisan will also be chosen. Youth who wish to participate will be required to bring their work to display, and to introduce themselves to the Barony. Participants should provide their name and work to Rebbah (Lady) Amari the morning of 12th Night.
